Dewey Reynolds

Founder/President and Language Arts Tutor


Mr. Reynolds graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1990 and has been teaching in public schools ever since. Having taught all levels of secondary education, he is familiar with the wide range of skills that students bring into Personal Best sessions, so he can meet their instructional needs well. He is certified in Secondary English Education and Gifted Instruction. He currently teaches IB English, serves as the Gifted and Secondary Services Coordinator, and is a former English Department Co-Chair at Brooke Point High School in Stafford, Virginia.

Rebecca Ritenour

Language Arts Tutor

Mrs. Ritenour is originally from New Hampshire, but grew up in Stafford, Virginia. She graduated from James Madison University in 2014 with her Bachelor's Degree in English, and the following year, she earned her Master's of Arts in Teaching at the same university. She has been a full-time staff member at Brooke Point High School since 2015, teaching ninth and tenth grade English. She has also coached the Brooke Point High School gymnastics team since 2015. 

Jennifer Burdsall

Language Arts Tutor


Ms. Burdsall received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Wright State University and her Master's of Education from University of Mary Washington. She went on to earn her Master's of Educational Leadership from George Mason University. She has been teaching and tutoring English since 2008, tutoring SOL remediation since 2012, and has more recently become both an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher and an IB CAS Coordinator. Ms. Burdsall currently teaches at Brooke Point High School in Stafford, Virginia where she is also a forensics and debate coach.

Kristen Knott

Math Tutor

Ms. Knott graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. She went on to earn her Master’s in Education Leadership from George Mason University in 2000. Her National Board Certification from 2008 was renewed in 2018. Ms. Knott has taught all levels of math classes at Virginia high schools such as King George High School (‘92-’93), Brooke Point High School (‘93-’16), and has been a full-time staff member of the Math Department at Stafford High School since 2016.

Seth Galluzzi

Math Tutor


Mr. Galluzzi was born and raised in DuBois, Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Mathematics Education from Penn State University. He has been a full-time staff member of the Brooke Point High School Math Department in Stafford, Virginia since 2015 teaching IB Mathematics and Algebra 2. He enjoys rooting for his Pittsburgh sports teams and fishing.

Ashley Phillips

Math Tutor

Ms. Phillips graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. She started teaching in 2006 while earning her Master’s in Education from Mary Washington University. She taught in King George County, Virginia from 2006-2011 and has been teaching all levels of math as a full-time staff member at Brooke Point High School in Stafford, Virginia since 2012.

Kelly O'Connor

Language Arts Tutor


Ms. O’Connor has been teaching for 20 years in a variety of locations including Cape Verde off the west coast of Africa. Having taught all levels of English from 7th grade through Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment, she is currently the English Department Lead at North Stafford High School. Her experience includes working with ESL students and AVID elective courses which focus on study and time management skills. She enjoys reading and running in Stafford where she resides with her husband, three kids, and two dogs.

Heather Guhl

Program Assistant


Ms. Guhl graduated from the University of Maryland in 1995. She taught Spanish and ESOL and then became interested in helping students with special needs. She earned a Board Certification in Educational Advocacy and has applied her skills in various educational settings, from boutique-style tutoring centers to local college academic support centers. She is an amateur seamstress and meditator, an ice cream connoisseur, a foreign language enthusiast, and a community volunteer. She feels privileged to be a part of the uncommon team at Personal Best that makes quality SAT tutoring accessible to all.
